My workplace uses a semi-private YouTube channel to distribute videos they want us all to watch or videos related to the work we do (that they want the public to watch). I just finished watching the latest video from HR (as per their request) about a software change that will be happening within my agency. And this is my "recommendations" list from YouTube for other videos to watch. - Video by my Workplace
- Heavy Metal Music Video
- Video by my Workplace
- Video by my Workplace
- The Secret of Roan Inish
- Video by my Workplace
- Celine Dion & Josh Groban Music Video
- Video by my Workplace
I have watched both recommended music videos on YouTube in the past. So that makes sense. But The Secret of Roan Inish Yeah, I loved that movie as a kid and watched it lots and lots on VHS. But I have definitely not googled that or talked about it recently. I had basically forgotten the movie even exists, except when people are talking about multi-cultural folklore or Ayashi no Ceres. How does YouTube KNOW??? What the f**k, YouTube? What in the actual f**k?

i had to turn off the video watching history because of stuff like this, yeah my recommendations are completely jacked up...but at least i won't have my stuff impacted by the weird stuff my kids watch... like, a 5 minute craft unboxing video...

I do drink reviews, though I did want to do audible readings of a few of my short stories but I worry about copyright. *shrugs*

My youtube recommendation and watch list is sooooooo all over the board. From looking up ways to fix something, random 4K videos just because they are so pretty, and an eclectic mix of world music really keeps me guessing what's going to pop up next XD

Youtube is indeed weird. I wish the recommendations at least had something to do with what I'm watching. For example, if I'm watching comedy, I might appreciate more comedy recommendations. Youtube doesn't think so and gives me whatever, completely random stuff as far as I can tell.

I do have a music video playlist that seems to get some hits. An actress I follow from the UK does readings on facebook live, and I've considered doing the same thing with some of my short stories.
Been doing some reading on the Copyright and so on. It might be something I look forward to doing.

Ooh nice idea Oka! I rarely listen to audio books myself, but I know it's popular with many people and I think it can really build and audience if you do it well.

Though I've also been considering podcasting instead, since who wants to look at this mug.... I'm reading a story. Unless I have images or pictures I've drawn it's purely audio that's needed. *shrugs* lol Still considering.
