Hiya! Welcome to SnoopyCool After Life where old members of SnoopyCool can get together and talk about what is going on with them now that Life has happened. Non-SC people are welcome, too, so feel free to invite anyone with whom you would like to have forum-style conversations. If you were SC, please include in your introduction what your SC name was and what your involvement was (Staffer, Mod, Lurker, etc. you know, that kind of thing.) I will try to keep this post updated with a list of who was who. LIST OF FORUM MEMBERSSCAL Name | SC Name | JessieMB | Shejes - The one who dated and then married Snoopy | Cosmos | Cosmos - One of the very first staffers, Head Lurker In Chief, and the one who always reminded Snoopy that he still owes her some of the Manga Magazine Swag. | CCHHunter | CCHHunter a.k.a. Hunter - The one married to Cosmos and who convinced Snoopy to do a Metroid manga. | amanharan | amanharan - A Forum Member who always had something cheerful to say. | Cave | Cave a.k.a. Cavey a.k.a. Cave-chan - A staffer who worked on everything and everything she could because she loved to edit manga. | Kates | Kates - Description TBD after Kates posts what she wants her description to say. | Myth | Myth a.k.a. DataComp - Longtime Lurker | Okamikyodai | Okamikyodai a.k.a. Oka - Passionate supporter and translator of Lucu Lucu. | Snoopy | Snoopy - The man who brought us all together in the first place. | cgdiaz | cgdiaz- a filthy casual lurker who loved the work. | Kamon | Kamon - The greatest Rhymester there ever was. | Yukimaru | Yukimaru a.k.a. Yuki - (bio)Meat, it's what's for dinner! |
Welcome to the club!

Hi everyone, My name is Matthew aka CCHHunter, I was probably the last member to join SC before things kinda died away to life. Initially my involvement was married to SC member, Cosmos, before taking the typesetting (couldn't think of the damn word it's been so long!) of Doubt, Sumire-17, and if I remember correctly...Helen ESP (was that one I was working on?). The manga that truly made me famous among my fellow Metroid fans was the editing of the Metroid Manga SC did (and my biggest contribution to the Metroid community Still super grateful that Snoopy translated that for me so we could get it to the fans as there is still no official translation of the Manga to this day! After SC, I tried to fill the void by joining the Digital Manga Guild (DMG) and worked with Rensaku Productions Group for a couple of volumes of two yoai manga, Son of the Mimura Family and Clumsy Child, both of which I don't know if they completed as DMG stopped communicating with our group leader at the time. I also started working with the Metroid Database on the first few chapters of "Samus and Joey" before quitting due to differences with the translator. I'm still happily married to Cosmos with a daughter living the SC after life and missing the 'good ole days'! SCAL Name: CCHHunter / SC Name CCHHunter

Hello, I was and am Cave! Or Cavechan. I was a typesetter for SC for a couple of years I think? I worked on Air Gear, Rocket Princess and a random chapter here and there of Hajime no Ippo and Kamen Rider.

I need to dust off my html/phpcode knowledge and figure out how to add lines around a table, again. Cuz that is ugly.
Please take a look at the notes I've added next to everyone's name and let me know if you want something changed. Aman, I'm especially concerned about your input given your intro post.
Please and thank you!
Edit: MWAHAHAHA. Table is fixed.

I see you, Kates. I think I remember that you used to be a translator. Is that correct? What I remember most is that yours was the first wedding I ever shipped a gift to, and that you had an utterly fantastic wedding invitation that unfolded like the petals of a flower. Still my favorite one that I have ever received.

I'm here and life did indeed get in the way. I started reading an official translation (by Seven Seas) of Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer that I've had lying around for over a year now and decided I miss a lot of what life was "back in the day". I originally came to Snoopy after getting into scanlations and really liking Recca. It didn't take me long to get Photoshop and teach myself typesetting, a few emails back and forth with Snoopy and I was helping crank out volume after volume of Recca *cough*beforelicensingruinedit*cough*, finishing the series before anything official was ever released.
And that's how it began. I don't know how many years we worked together for, I was always the one complaining and hounding Snoopy for swag from the volumes and phonebook manga and translators for their scripts. I asserted my boss personality even back then and went on to use that IRL to become an office manager. Here I am, longing for the old days when we had a group of pretty close-knit friends that never met each other, tiring of the social media that we are left to deal with nowadays.

Hi guys, long time no see. When I opened this, I was like, "Shit, hunter still has his old avatar!?"
That aside, I'm glad that the community that we built together was such a positive experience for everyone. I wish I could take credit for that, but I think it was just a lucky accident that the right people came to the right place at the right time. Back in the day, I was banging my head against the wall trying to cram 25 hours of work into a 24 hour day, but it was a time that I'll never forget. I even remember when Cosmos said that she was engaged and all of us had to collect our jaws from the floor.

That's what that line makes me think, and with your love for Metroid.... Actually, now that I think about it, there is at least one game review YouTube guy who we watch that is in love with Metroid....

I was one of the ops on the irc channel and a long time lurker. Feels odd without Ramp and a few others about.
Proper warning, I probably won't post much i'm slightly conversation averse these days.

Hey everyone,
I'm Oka, Okamikyodai, or you might know me from my many social media platforms like Youtube, Vine, Instagram, TikTok, and even Byte under the moniker SirDrinksALot. (sweeps one leg over side of the comfy recliner.)
I know, pretty awesome right? Don't sweat it though, I'm really a humble down to earth guy once you get to know me.
Short story, quick and sweet, I went to Japan and bought a playstation. I then bought Final Fantasy 8, couldn't understand it. I'd just started learning Japanese but my Kanji knowledge was well.... subsub par. So I spent a bit of time in my room doing homework for class and in my spare time I watched Cowboy Bebop (1998-1999 at the time) and in my room trying to figure out why Squall was so bitchy. When I came back to Texas, with the very limited amount of available Japanese to stay fresh on I turned to the internet and found SnoopyCool. There was a request for Translators so I thought I'd give it a shot. Snoop dropped me a test page, and Lucu Lucu was my baby. Though I think I did a tiny snippit of Houshin Engi (might have been my test pages actually). My skills still were pretty sucky but it was all I had to keep up at least doing something. After that, becoming more active in the forums I met the rest of the crew (either IRL or just through chat)and ... we've all kinda floated around bumping into each other here and there and staying connected. I miss forums and forum style messaging so this is a real treat.

Hey!
Myth reached out to me and I'm very glad he did!
I am fairly sure my username was always cgdiaz, and I try to grab it on any new platforms when they come out but it's hard to keep up. Since it's my name and many other latin peoples name, it can be kind of annoying. Every few days I get mail for Carmen Gloria Diaz, Carlos Gabriel Diaz, or some other combination there of. Occasionally I'll get a gmail password reset request from spain, those are fun.
I'm honestly surprised myth remembered me, I was fairly active in TJO and SnoopyCool. That being said I was a filthy casual lurker who loved the work. I really enjoyed the IRC channels and all the fun times writing code.
I think I'll leave this at that,
- Christian

Nope, I just take pride in ensuring that my real life me and my internet life me are close reflections of each other. I don't ever want to be known as someone who says one thing and does another.
